Paddington 2 fans will be disappointed to find out that it has officially lost its title of ‘best movie ever’ (according to Rotten Tomatoes).
As you may recall, one bad review will get you dropped out of the leading spot and as a result of the review from Film Authority and critic Eddie Harrison, Paddington 2 has been given a 99% overall rating (via The Hollywood Reporter).
While it’s sad news for marmalade-loving Paddington, Buzz and Woody will be happy that their Pixar movie Toy Story 2 is now the best movie ever.
Last month, Paddington 2 took the top spot from Orson Welles’ 1941 classic Citizen Kane – the film lost its 100% rating after a decade due to a negative review from 1941 that had just surfaced.
Movie fans were then forced to find a new winner, so the 2018 movie from the Peruvian bear Paddington was deemed the best movie, at the time it had the most reviews of any title that also had a 100% rating.
Toy Story 2 is worthy of its new spot as it’s full of animated toy-talking drama. Woody gets kidnapped by a sleazy toy collector, Buzz and co go in search and try to rescue him, while unaware of their search, Woody makes a new group of toy friends and is tempted by the offer of getting shipped to a museum.
