Regina King is speaking out about rumours she could be getting in the director’s chair for the new Superman movie.
The Watchmen star was asked about all the speculation during a recent interview – and it turns out she actually had no idea about the whole thing.
MSNBC’s Tiffany Cross was the one who bought it to Regina’s attention, telling during a recent interview, “You’re rumoured to be on the shortlist to direct Superman” alongside names like Barry Jenkins.
“Tiffany, that is news to me. You have broke the news to me. A news break, live on MSNBC,” Regina hit back, admitting she hadn’t even heard the rumours “until just now. Oh, wow”.
Unless Regina is doing some impressive acting (which she’s also great at) it sounds like that one’s probably a no then, but there’s no doubting that would have been pretty epic.
It was first reported back in February that a new Superman movie will be in the works from none other than Star Wars‘ JJ Abrams and writer of the Black Panther comics, Ta-Nehisi Coates.
Not many more details are known about the movie at this point – clearly including who’s going to be in the director’s chair!
